LEWISTON, ID -  Most of the signs of the heavy rains last night are now gone from Lewiston. The area in the parking lot outside McDonald’s and the Red Lion Hotel is now almost completely dry and cleaned up. There is a chance for more rain tonight, but the National Weather Service does not expect anywhere near as much as we had last night.

LEWISTON, ID – A man allegedly tried to climb onto a moving semi-truck yesterday on the Interstate Bridge between Lewiston and Clarkston.  A city spokesperson says the man was involved in a dispute with another man when he entered traffic. 

Wheatland Fire Dist Open House

LEWISTON, ID – The Wheatland Fire District’s new building is ready for inspection.  The trucks are parked inside and the gear is on the shelves.  Eventually the facility will also have a kitchen, offices, and a big meeting room that the community can use for events.

LEWISTON, ID - There is standing and moving water on the streets in Lewiston and other parts of the area right now.  These shots are from the bottom of 21st street and near the Red Lion. 

Farm Truck Snags Utility Line

CLARKSTON, WA – A farm truck snagged some utility lines in the Clarkston Heights today.  About 11:45 this morning, the vehicle was turning the corner at 2nd avenue and 23rd street when the trailer connected with some utility lines and started to pull a connected pole down. 

Accident Near Red Wolf Bridge

WHITMAN CO, WA – One person was injured yesterday after an accident with a semi truck.  It happened near the north end of the Red Wolf Bridge.  Because the DOT shut down the bridge completely to make repairs, it took emergency crews several extra minutes to get to the site.

ASOTIN, WA – Local deputies will be looking more closely to make sure you’re buckled up.  The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office says starting Monday, they’ll have deputies patrolling to make sure everyone is following the law and wearing a safety belt. 

New Phone Scam

LEWISTON, ID – There’s a new phone scam going around.  The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is sending out the warning.  A man with a strong southern accent called a local resident and said he was from the Sheriff’s Department.  He said the person had 2 arrest warrants out, and needed to go to the courthouse to take care of it.

LEWISTON, ID – The Wheatland Fire District is gearing up for what could be a bad grass fire season.  Their new building is finished just in time.  They have 6 trucks of different kinds that can respond to home and wild fires, and now they have a clean facility to house them.

OLYMPIA, WA – Your next ballot will likely come with postage attached.  Washington Governor Jay Inslee agrees with Secretary of State Kim Wyman that Washington voters shouldn’t have to pay to send back their votes.  They anticipate it will cost $1,800,000.00 of Washingtonians’ tax money to add postage to every ballot that goes out.
