Emergency Board Meeting Today

LEWISTON, ID – Robin Turner has been fired from the Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport.  The Airport Authority Board held an emergency meeting this morning and voted in favor of his termination.  The firing is immediate.  Turner held the position of Airport Manager until he retired, and then was re-hired by former manager Stephanie Morgan as an Assistant Manager.  Morgan’s employment was terminated earlier this week by the board at their regularly-scheduled meeting.

NRA Suing State of Washington For Gun Legislation

OLYMPIA, WA – Washington’s newest gun legislation is already under fire.  The National Rifle Association, the Second Amendment Foundation and several Washington citizens have filed suit over Initiative 1639.  

The groups behind the lawsuit filed the suit.  In the document it challenges the constitutionality of certain bans within the Initiative.

Orofino Water Shut-Off At 10:00 am

OROFINO, ID – Water to parts of the Orofino area will be shut down in about 30 minutes.  The Riverside Water and Sewer District has a break in the main water line.  The water will be shut off from 140th Street west to Hidden Village and the Pink House Recreation site.  The water will be turned off at 10:00 am until it’s repaired.

CLARKSTON, WA – Asotin County Deputies and Firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle in a canyon this morning.  A caller noticed the vehicle overturned between Deer Pointe Drive and 4th Avenue.

Earthquake In Southeast Idaho

SODA SPRINGS, ID – An earthquake this morning lightly shook Soda Springs and radiated into Idaho Falls and Pocatello.  The 3.8 magnitude quake was 11 kilometers down. The U.S. Geological Survey doesn’t expect that it did any damage, but they do like to know how far away people felt it.

15-Acre Fire Extinguished South of Moscow

MOSCOW, ID – Idaho Department of Lands fire crews mopped up a 15-acre fire yesterday south of Moscow.  It was off Zeitler Road near Paradise Ridge Road.  The blaze was originally reported at about 3:30 pm on Tuesday, contained by 11:00 pm, and out yesterday.  Moscow Rural Fire had the first firefighters on the scene.

LEWISTON, ID – After saying they would not take any action during the executive session, the Airport Board fired Manager Stephanie Morgan in a unanimous vote.  It happened during last night’s meeting at the Lewiston Nez Perce County Airport.

CLEARWATER COUNTY, ID – Just after midnight Monday morning Orofino Firefighters rushed to a structure fire at 185 Old Ahsahka Grade.  The two homeowners, Pamela and Gerrard Stamper, reported waking to the sound of a fire alarm.

Deputy's Rifle Stolen

MOSES LAKE, WA – Someone stole a rifle from a deputy’s patrol vehicle in Grant County.  The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,500 reward for the return of the firearm.  The vehicle was parked outside a home in Moses Lake Wednesday morning when it happened.
