POMEROY, WA – The Beal Fire is out.  It started yesterday afternoon in Garfield County, northwest of Pomeroy.  At 9:00 pm, it was contained, but at 1:00 am, they had a flare-up that burned about 7 more acres. 

Don't Call 911 To Ask About Smoke

CLARKSTON, WA – Local fire departments are asking you to not call 911 to find out why there’s smoke in the air.  The Asotin County Fire District put up a facebook post asking for your help.  Local counties have noticeable amounts of smoke in the air from fires burning near Spokane and near The Dalles, OR.  There are no working fires in our area at this time.

CLARKSTON, WA – The haze in the LC Valley this morning is likely coming from a fire last night in Garfield County.  There are also fires burning near The Dalles, OR and Spokane, WA that are contributing. The 6:00 am reading in Clarkston has a “moderate” level to the air quality reading.

LEWISTON, ID - The 14 and under Babe Ruth All Stars are headed to Camas, Washington to represent the LC Valley and the State of Idaho at the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament. It's coming up July 22nd-28th.
The Team is hosting a car wash to raise funds for the program. 

Forest Fire At 20 Acres

GRANGEVILLE, ID – A fire is still burning at the base of the Mt. Idaho grade, southeast of Grangeville.  The Blackerby Fire was first noticed this morning at about 3:15.  Firefighters and equipment from the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests and the Department of Lands are currently working to get it extinguished.

ID Taxes Collected More Than Expected

$100.7 Million More Than Forecast

BOISE, ID – The State of Idaho collected more than expected in taxes the fiscal year that just ended.  Growth in the gen state was beyond predictions, so that left $100.7 million more in revenue than anticipated.  The Division of Financial Management expected a 5.3% growth, but actual figures show an 8.2% growth in tax receipts.
