Hatchery highlights for April: Notable fish stockings around the state

Spring is here, and hatchery staff has ramped up fish stocking around the state, with trout bound for water bodies in each of Fish and Game's seven regions.  About 213,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout will be stocked throughout Idaho during April, more than three times as many as they stocked in March.

Boise, Idaho – The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health is awarding $30,000 in grants to launch a telehealth pilot program at two libraries in Clearwater County. Both libraries will be able to offer telehealth visits, increasing access to healthcare in rural Idaho.

I was scrolling through the web this morning, and found a video of a beautiful ocean creature known as a "Sea Angel"! In this video, the almost transparent sea slug glides effortlessly through the water, and when it flaps its small wings, it really does look like an angel.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Both Lewis-Clark State Cross Country teams joined the NAIA’s top 10 in the final edition of the top 25 polls, released on Monday. Both teams overtook teams ranked ahead of them in the previous poll at the Cascade Conference Championships on Friday and both are likely headed to Cedar Rapids, Iowa next week for the national meet.

Two months after the signing of the Vietnam peace agreement, the last U.S. combat troops leave South Vietnam as Hanoi frees the remaining American prisoners of war held in North Vietnam. America’s direct eight-year intervention in the Vietnam War was at an end. In Saigon, some 7,000 U.S. Department of Defense civilian employees remained behind to aid South Vietnam in conducting what looked to be a fierce and ongoing war with communist North Vietnam.

SPOKANE, WA -  March. 29, 2021, 11:00 a.m.: Following Sunday’s windstorm, Avista crews and staff continue responding to the remaining outages. At the peak of the windstorm, approximately 18,600 Avista customers were without power, with 120 incidents reported. As of 10:00 a.m. Monday, 15,100 customers have been restored, with approximately 3,500 customers still without power because of the windstorm.
