Blue Bridge Work Delaying Traffic

CLARKSTON, WA – It might be a good idea to use the Southway Bridge to get to and from Clarkston today.  The Washington State Department of Transportation is doing regular maintenance on the Interstate Bridge.  The work requires the bridge to be raised and lowered to check all the moving parts.  It will require traffic to be stopped at both ends.

WA Voters Approving Gun Legislation

OLYMPIA, WA – One of the controversial initiatives on the Washington ballot that is passing is Initiative 1639 regarding firearms.  It gives definition to  the term “semiautomatic assault rifle”, defining it as “any rifle which utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and chamber the next round, and which requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each cartridge.”  It also mandates proof of having completed a recognized firearm safety course in the last 5 years.

OLYMPIA, WA – With few votes left to be tallied, the Washington ballots are cast and here are the current, unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s Office.

Legislative District 9, State Representative Pos. 1 – Mary Dye has a lead of more than 11,000 votes over Jenn Goulet.

Legislative District 9, State Representative Pos. 1 – Joe Schmick is beating Matthew Sutherland by more than 9,000 votes.

Idaho Election Results

BOISE, ID – With just 3 districts left in the Gem State to report election results to the Secretary of State, the preliminary results are in from last night’s General Election. 

Governor – Brad Little has 60% of the vote against Paulette Jordan’s 38%.  Three other candidates split the other 2%. 

Lieutenant Governor – Janice McGeachin has 60% of the current votes versus Kristin Collum’s 40%.

ASOTIN, WA - ELECTIONS - Votes are still coming in, but citizens of Asotin are choosing against the levy that will keep their basic Fire, Police, and other services in the city.  The votes are currently  62% against and 38% for the levy.

CLARKSTON, WA – Tomorrow is mid-term Election Day.  If you live in Washington, your ballot needs to be post-marked with tomorrow’s date, or sooner, or in a drop box by 8:00 pm.  The drop box locations are the Lincoln Middle School parking lot, Clarkston City Hall, and the County Courthouse Foyer.

ASOTIN, WA – The Asotin Holiday Craft Fair is tomorrow.  More than 50 vendors will have hand-made and unique treasures for sale including quilted items, antiques, wood art, jewelry, and more.  It’s at the Asotin High School Gym from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.  There’s no cost to get in.

29 Year Old Man Arrested

CLARKSTON, WA – Clarkston Police Officers arrested a 29-year-old Clarkston man this morning charging him with Hit and Run.  A Clarkston Police representative says at some point this morning the man allegedly hit a boat and a building in the Port of Clarkston.
