Attempted Murder Charge Dismissed Against Clarkston Man Due to Death of Victim

LEWISTON, ID - Charges were dismissed today against a 30-year-old Clarkston man who was charged with the shooting of another man at a downtown Lewiston apartment in May of 2015.  Nez Perce County Prosecutor Justin Coleman says due to the recent death of the victim and sole witness, 32-year-old Gary Grogan, the charge of Attempted 1st-Degree Murder was dismissed against Tyrone Paul.

Firefighters Rescue Man From Cliff

LEWISTON, ID - The Lewiston Fire Department rescued a man who had become trapped on the face of a cliff in the 900 block of 7th Avenue North at about 10:30 a.m. this morning.  According to a press release, the man had reportedly climbed to the location and found himself on a loose gravel portion of the hillside.

LEWISTON, ID - Every year salmon and steelhead migrate hundreds of miles from the ocean to spawn in Idaho’s rivers and streams.  Despite having some of the best spawning and rearing habitat in the Pacific Northwest, most salmon and steelhead populations in Idaho have been listed as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act.  As such, a tremendous amount of effort has occurred to improve salmon and steelhead abundance.

For us to truly understand how improvements are benefitting wild salmon and steelhead, we need to know how these fish populations are responding.  What we have found to be the most effective and efficient way to survey fisheries in these environments is through snorkel surveys.

Construction & Auto Sales Help Boost Washington's 1st-Quarter Retail Sales by 5.3%

OLYMPIA, WA - Steady growth in construction and auto sales helped boost Washington State's taxable retail sales by 5.3% in the first quarter of 2017 over the same period last year, reaching a total of $34.1 billion.  Asotin County's taxable retail sales grew by 3.09% to nearly $69.7 million.

LEWISTON, ID/MOSCOW, ID - Serve Idaho has awarded nearly $1 million in grants for AmeriCorps programs, statewide, including 32 through Lewis-Clark State College's Service Corps program.
