Oak Harbor man will serve 45 days in jail for claiming theft of car he sold

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Arnold F. Bodner pleaded guilty to one count of filing a fraudulent insurance claim in Island County Superior Court in connection with an auto insurance claim. Bodner will serve 45 days in the Island County Jail starting May 1 and was ordered to pay $1,100 in fines and court fees.

Chief Myklebust presented Engineer/Paramedic Kyle Green with the American Legion Post 13, 'Paramedic of the Year Award, and Firefighter Chris Jones, with the American Legion Post 13 Firefighter of the Year Award.

Logging operations begin on Lowell WUI, closure of FSR 317

KAMIAH, Idaho (April 29, 2021) –  Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests officials advise the public to use caution during the Lowell Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) logging operations located adjacent to Forest Service Road (FSR) 317, the Coolwater Road.  Falling of timber began on Tuesday, Apr. 27, and yarding operations are scheduled to begin later in the week.  FSR 317 will be closed to all unauthorized traffic, vehicle and foot, seven days a week until June 30.

LEWISTON, ID - Lewiston Police have arrested a 20-year-old Lewiston man at about 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, April 29th for burglary and a felony charge of malicious injury to property to the old Lewiston High School building. Lance J. Anittila was taken into custody without incident in the 800 block of 20th ST in Lewiston due to his prior criminal record. 

Rosalia Man Arrested After Accidentally Setting Three Trailers Ablaze

COLFAX-  On 04-29-21 at 11:15 hours Whitman County Fire District 7 was advised of an abandoned mobile home on Summit St in Rosalia WA was on fire.   As fire personnel arrived on the scene they observed two other abandoned mobile homes were burning as well as a grass field adjacent to the burning mobile homes.   Fire personnel requested assistance from Fire District 10, Fire District 2, Fire District 3, Fire District 11 along with Whitman County Deputies to respond to the scene.

PULLMAN, Washington—Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories will raise its starting hourly wage for U.S. employees to $16 per hour, effective May 1. The company also announced that it is looking for 50 people to join their manufacturing teams working in Pullman, Washington, and Lewiston, Idaho.
