LOLO PASS, ID – Now that the snow has mostly melted, events are starting back up at the Lolo Pass Visitor’s Center.  A guest speaker from Raptors of the Rockies will be there on the 31st with several feathered friends.  The talk begins at 9:30 am that day and is completely free.

NEZ PERCE COUNTY, ID – The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is concerned about the temperature of Hatwai Creek.  A recent check shows it’s above recommended levels because of a lack of shade in the 32-square mile watershed known as Hatwai Creek Subbasin.

LEWISTON, ID – Heavy rains will continue today and tonight.  The National Weather Service is continuing the Flood Watch through tomorrow morning.  They expect the rain to cause creeks and streams to rise across the inland northwest. 

Bomb Squad Headed To Lewiston

Homeowner Found Blasting Caps

LEWISTON, ID – The 200 Block of 3rd Street is closed right now while LPD officers wait for the Spokane Bomb Squad to arrive.  A Normal Hill homeowner called police after he found a box of blasting caps in his shed.  Officers have closed the block off to traffic and alerted neighbors within 300 feet of the caps to stay in their homes or evacuate.

NEZ PERCE COUNTY, ID – You’d better make sure you’re buckled up, because deputies will be paying closer attention next week.  Starting on Monday, the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with the Idaho Transportation Department and other local law enforcement offices to keep an eye out for unrestrained drivers.

LEWISTON, ID – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for our area and much of Washington and Idaho.  Starting at 2:00 this afternoon and running through Saturday morning, heavy rains and thunderstorms could lead to flash flooding.

Police Memorial Honors Lewiston's Fallen Officers

371 New Names Added To National Memorial This Year

LEWISTON, ID – 371 New names have been added to the national memorial honoring fallen law enforcement officers this year.  May 15th is Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week surrounding it is Police Week.  Lewiston Police Department chose today to hold a ceremony honoring their five officers who gave all in the Department’s history.
