No. 12 Warriors Use Big Second Half to Power Past Maine-Fort Kent

LEWISTON, Idaho – The No. 12 Lewis-Clark State Women’s Basketball team closed out the home games for this decade with an 84-48 win over Maine-Fort Kent on Tuesday night. Led by 14 points each from Kiara Burlage and Abbie Johnson, the Warriors used a big second half to improve to 9-2 on the young season. LC State allowed just 14 points in the second half.

Risch, Crapo Support Defense Authorization Bill

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sens. Jim Risch (R-Idaho) and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) today supported the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report.  This year’s NDAA charts a consensus national defense policy that continues the restoration of military readiness; implements a National Defense Strategy to confront Russia, China and other adversaries; and cares for U.S. troops and their families. As chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, Idaho’s Senators secured significant wins critical to our nation’s security and national defense. The President is expected to sign the bill into law.

Commission Approves Freshwater Fishing Rule Changes, Marine Fish and Shellfish Rule Simplifications, and a Land Acquisition at December Meeting

BELLINGHAM – The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission made decisions on several fishing rule proposals and a land transaction at their Dec. 13-14 meeting in Bellingham. The commission also heard updates on Southern Resident Killer Whales, Baker Lake and Skagit River sockeye fishery management, hatchery reform, non-toxic ammunition, and Columbia River salmon policy.
