Guy Bennett Lumber Company is a family owned and operated sawmill located in Clarkston, WA seeking a saw filer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a saw filer.  Applicants must be knowledgeable in all aspects of saw filing operations.  Preference will be given to applicants with stelite and carbide experience.  Must be able to bench, grind, and tip round saws, change saws, change mill guides, change knives, perform preventative maintenance and align machine centers, maintain lube and water systems on saw centers, troubleshoot sawing centers to maintain accurate sawing, and maintain and repair filing room equipment.  Knowledge of computers and computer programming preferred.

ID Health Insurance Rates Increasing

LEWISTON, ID – If you have an Idaho insurance plan, your rates are going up again next year.   Individual plan rates will increase an average of 5% in 2019.  The last three years have seen double-digit increases, including 27% last year.  This spring health insurance carriers requested an 8% increase, but the department denied the request, only allowing 5%.

WEIPPE, ID – Authorities in Clearwater County are putting out a request for information on a missing man.  The county Facebook page says David E. Carrico hasn’t been seen since September 24th.  He left his home outside of Weippe that day driving a silver-green 2001 Subaru Legacy station wagon.

ASOTIN, WA – Asotin football fans can help by brining diapers to the game Friday.  During the game, the Asotin Lions Club will be trading packs of diapers for chili dogs.  The diapers will go to the guardians of children in foster care.   The chili dogs come with a free drink.

U of I Releases Summer Graduate List

MOSCOW, ID – Students earned 265 degrees at the University of Idaho after finishing their coursework this summer.  The U of I has released the names of the graduates, including 29 students from our area.  Students earned degrees ranging from a B.A. to a Ph.D. and a J.D.
