LEWISTON, ID - The Lewis Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Business Expo and Career Fair today at the Williams Conference Center at Lewis-Clark State College from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The focus of this fair is to provide opportunities to area students and the public looking for potential employment openings, internships, or volunteer opportunities. Free lunch will be provided to the first 200 participants.

AG Report Reveals Data of Nearly 3 Million Washingtonians Compromised in Past Year

OLYMPIA, WA - Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson today released his second annual Data Breach Report. It finds that between July of 2016 and July of this year, data breaches affected nearly 3 million Washingtonians.  That is more than six times the number impacted in the previous 12 month period.

State Department of Education’s Annual "Planning My Future" Art Contest for Students

BOISE, ID - Idaho students in grades 7th through 12th have the opportunity to visualize their college or career goals through the State Department of Education’s annual "Planning My Future" art contest. All entries must be postmarked by December 1st and the winning entry will be featured in a future Idaho State Department of Education publication and displayed at www.sde.idaho.gov.

 

Clarkston DECA "It Can Wait" Campaign

CLARKSTON, WA - Clarkston DECA students Tyler Peters, Tiana Ah Hi, and Jasmine Carringer along with the rest of the DECA members are committed to keeping the members of our community safe on the road with their "It Can Wait" campaign. The distracted driving campaign will continue throughout the rest of the week.

From the Clarkston School District:
The "It Can Wait" campaign is centered on community involvement and creating awareness. A wrecked car will be on display in the courtyard during the week as a reminder for CHS students on the dangers of driving distracted.

LCSC Received a $15,000 Gift From the Idaho Community Foundation to Support STEM

LEWISTON, ID - Lewis-Clark State College has received a $15,000 gift from the Idaho Community Foundation to help and support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math learning opportunities for area Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers through the i-STEM program. This program was created to promote education and events available to teachers that enhance the teaching of STEM subjects in the classroom.

From LCSC:
I-STEM is run through the Idaho Department of Education and receives funding from several sources.
Idaho has six i-STEM institutes, all located at public higher education institutions, including Lewis-Clark State College. A part of the program, LCSC has hosted a three-day workshop during the past four summers to help teachers bring STEM learning and projects into the classroom.

Washington Dental Service Foundation SmileMobile is Coming to Town

CLARKSTON, WA - The Washington Dental Service Foundation SmileMobile is coming to town Monday, October 16th through the 20th. It will be parked at Grantham Elementary School and will provide dental examinations to pregnant women and children from babies up through high school age.

Treatment appointments will be provided the duration of the stay. The event is open to all Asotin County residents, regardless of the school your child attends.
