LEWISTON, Idaho – Cole Olsen added another accolade to his list of accomplishments on Friday when he was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Olsen was an All-American in both cross country and track this year while maintaining a 3.95 cumulative grade point average.

Olympia - The Washington State Patrol (WSP) took another step in their goal to remove impaired drivers from Washington roadways. In an effort to make the DUI arrest process more efficient and reduce impacts to the healthcare system, the WSP started a pilot program where 21 troopers have been trained as licensed phlebotomists. These troopers now have the ability to conduct legal blood draws on suspects that have been arrested for DUI, where a search warrant from a judge has been issued.

On June 2 through June 4, 2020 between the hours of 6:30 am and 5:00 pm, weather permitting, the Asotin County Public Works Department will be applying Magnesium Chloride road stabilizer to the Snake River Road from MP 19.00 to MP 22.00 and Troy Road from MP 10.1 to 10.91.   This maintenance is part of Asotin Countys road stabilization program.

F&G Commission in March established a 5-day wait period for capped elk tag buyers who applied for an elk controlled hunt.

Applications for controlled deer, elk, pronghorn and fall bear hunts run May 1 through June 5. Elk hunters are reminded that new for 2020, there is a five-day waiting period to buy capped elk zone tags for any resident who applies for a controlled elk hunt regardless of whether the person draws the controlled hunt tag.

Boise, Idaho – Protocols are now available for movie theatres to follow in order to open in Stage 3 of the Idaho Rebounds plan to safely and responsibly open Idaho’s economy in stages. Governor Little announced today that he moved up the opening of movie theatres two weeks early, from Stage 4 to Stage 3.
