CLARKSTON, WA – The plan to shut down the Red Wolf Bridge this summer for more work has been pushed to September.  The Washington State Department of Transportation shut down the bridge this spring to do some repair and resurfacing work.

Burn Ban In Effect

ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – Starting this morning, nearly all types of burning are banned in Asotin County.  The heat and dry conditions in the county make it dangerous to have any open flame.  Commissioners met at 9:00 am at their regular meeting and took action on an emergency suspension of burning in unincorporated areas of Asotin County.

CLARKSTON, WA – Chestnut Beach is back open again after bacterial contaminants are down to acceptable levels.  The popular swimming hole in Clarkston has been closed because of high levels of fecal coliforms. The bacteria come from human or animal waste and can make you sick.

LEWISTON, ID – Cole J. Marcell was arraigned today for the stabbing death of Clarkston resident Sarah N. Warden.  The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office’s report of the incident says the female body located near Mud Springs Pond in Lewis County, ID had identification on it that confirmed it was Warden.  An autopsy showed Warden had numerous slashes and puncture knife wounds, as well as possible blunt force trauma to the head.

KAMIAH, ID – The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests want know what you think.  They’re hosting open houses they call “Coffee with the Planners”.  They’ll be discussing Forest Plan Revisions.  It’s an informal opportunity to ask questions and learn more about what’s happening.
