Two Teens Injured in Collision on State Highway 8

MOSCOW, ID - Two teenagers were transported to Gritman Medical Center following a one-vehicle collision about four miles east of Moscow at 10:29 a.m. today.  The Idaho State Police says 19-year-old Christian Aguirre-Dowell of Bonners Ferry was traveling eastbound on State Highway 8 when his 2002 Toyota Celica went off the south side of the highway at milepost 8.5.

Pomeroy Coach Among the WIAA 2018 Hall of Fame Class

LEWISTON, ID - The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced its six-member 2018 Hall of Fame Class.  The group will be honored alongside the class of 2017 at a May 2nd luncheon at the Renton Pavilion Events Center.  Joining the class as administrator is Bob Kirk.  He spent 32 years as an athletic director and teacher at Pomeroy High School, while also serving 24 years as the WIAA District 9 Director.

Reforestation has Begun on Private Lands That Burned in the 2015 Clearwater Complex Fire

KAMIAH, ID - Reforestation has begun on the private lands that burned in the 2015 Clearwater Complex Fire. The Idaho Department of Lands along with the Idaho County Soil and Water Conservation District are beginning to replant trees.

Approximately 27,000 Ponderosa Pine seedlings were just planted on 90 acres of private land in the Lolo Creek drainage.

Washington Fish & Wildlife Commission has Adopted New Hunting Regulations

OLYMPIA, WA - The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission has adopted new hunting regulations for deer, elk, waterfowl, and other game species through 2020. The commission has also authorized the department to purchase 1,275 acres in Chelan County's Stemilt Basin to protect critical wildlife habitat.

 

Gritman Medical Center Will Host Building Dedication & Community Open House

MOSCOW, ID - Gritman Medical Center will host a building dedication and community open house on April 27th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

From GMC:
Kara Besst, President and CEO of Gritman, will kick off the celebration with a brief presentation followed by a dedication and ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. in the large tent located directly outside of the new building on Main Street.

WSU Landscape Architecture Students Developed Designs for Lower Snake River Waterfront

PULLMAN, WA - Washington State University landscape architecture students have developed designs for the Lower Snake River waterfront. The students will present their work on Wednesday, April 25th, in Carpenter Hall, Room 412, on the WSU Pullman campus, and at the Lewiston Library on May 4th beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Visitors Cautioned to be Prepared for Roadwork & Delays on Forest Service Road 309

KAMIAH, ID - The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests says that visitors should be prepared for roadwork and delays on Forest Service road 309, also known as Mill Creek Road, over the next few weeks.

From the NP-CNF's:
The project, which began April 16, will consist of grading the running surface, shaping and cleaning ditches, cleaning culvert catch basins, gravel surfacing, cattle guard replacement, and culvert replacement. Delays will be short at most of these work sites, but work at the culvert replacement sites will result in delays of up to four hours at each site.
