State Seeks Nominees for Recreation and Tourism Award

Nominations are now open for outstanding lifetime achievement in the fields of Idaho recreation and tourism. Idaho Governor Brad Little will select and recognize a nominated individual who has made significant contributions to developing, managing, or conserving Idaho’s recreation resources, or developing, managing, or promoting tourism in Idaho.

US-95 Between Riggins and Pollock to Open Wednesday

RIGGINS--The Idaho Transportation Department plans to open US-95 to traffic between Pollock and Riggins tomorrow, Wednesday (July 8) following the evaluation of geotechnical experts yesterday and positive results from continued monitoring. The highway will only open during the day to allow observation of the slope. 

2020 Arts Grants Announced

Idaho – The Idaho Commission on the Arts announced today its Fiscal Year 2021 annual grants, totaling $544,000 to 77 organizations and schools spanning 24 communities throughout the state. Organizations and schools receiving grants will match their awards with locally generated funds.

Update on Body Found in the Snake River

On July 3rd, 2020, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Whitcom who advised of a dead body in the Snake River near 21 Wawawai Grade Rd in Garfield County.  Whitman County deployed their marine unit and recovered the body.  Garfield County Coroner and deputies responded, and the coroner pronounced the person dead at the scene.
