ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind you that they’re not going to call you and ask for money because of a warrant for your arrest.  A press release from the office says that someone is calling citizens and identifying himself as a member of the ACSO.  The man then says there’s a warrant for the person’s arrest, but if the person will pay money, the warrant will go away.

OLYMPIA, WA – While the Idaho Governor is trying to cut down on the number of people who have to be licensed to work, Washington State Senators are reviewing a bill that would require music therapists to be licensed by the state.  Senate Bill 5485 would make it illegal to use the title Music Therapist or practice music therapy unless the person had been through a program accredited by the American Music Therapy Association with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and paid a fee to the state for a license.

LEWISTON, ID – Lewiston Police Officers would like your help figuring out what happened to the man who died yesterday on Bryden Canyon Road.  At about 4:04 pm, 31-year-old Cody Whitlock was headed down Bryden Canyon Road when he lost control and left the roadway. 

WINCHESTER, ID - The storm that's hitting Washington right now will soon roll into Idaho if it hasn't started already.  At 7:00 am White Bird Hill Summit was bare.  The top of the Lewiston Hill is bare, and Lolo Pass has some snow, but the report says there's good surface friction for driving.  4th of July Pass by Coeur d'Alene is slushy, but it also has good surface friction.

COLFAX, WA - A winter storm is headed east through Washington.  At just before 7:00 am, the Washington State Department of Transportation reports State Route 26 from Colfax to Washtucna is covered with snow.  Beyond that to Vantage there is snow in places on the highway. 

OROFINO, ID – Orofino’s Shopko store didn’t survive the most recent cuts of store closings.  The company filed for bankruptcy in January and has since announced the closing of more than 100 stores.  Lewiston’s store has survived, but Pullman’s Shopko is among them.  Other stores surrounding Lewiston have also been announced.

LENORE, ID - An agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation was shot this morning in Lenore, ID.  Nez Perce Tribal Spokeswoman Kayeloni Scott says the agent was serving a search warrant and the shooter has been taken into custody.

ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – Sheriff John Hilderbrand says no one is going to confiscate guns in Asotin County without good cause.  He’s adding his two cents to the Initiative 1639 conversation.  He says the initiative comes close to being unconstitutional and will add considerably more work to his staff without adding funding from the state.

LEWISTON, ID – Colder temperatures and snow are on the way to our area.  The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Statement for much of southeast Washington and north-central Idaho.  By Sunday the high temperature will be 24 degrees.  Things are expected to warm after that, but not much.  The high on Wednesday in Lewiston will be freezing.
