LEWISTON, ID – Yesterday morning a Nez Perce County Deputy was shot with a modified pen projectile weapon.  At about 5:00 am, the Deputy pulled a vehicle over near Hatwai Bypass and Highway 95.  The passenger Dillon Smith had an active arrest warrant.  The driver, Jessica Brunmeier, was on felony probation.  Her probation officer asked that she be taken into custody.

LEWISTON, ID – Clarkston Sophomore Tori Blewett earned the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley’s 2019 Youth of the Year award.  Blewett, Jessica Schumacher, a Lewiston 8^th grade student,  and Tarriq Wells, a Lapwai Sophomore were all nominated for the award.  Blewett now goes to the Washington State Competition in Seattle next month.

ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – The volunteers of Asotin County Fire District #1 responded to more than 1,500 calls last year.  The fire department is made up of volunteers, most of whom also have full-time jobs.  They stopped what they were doing to respond to 251 major incidents and more than 1,200 medical calls in the district in 2018.

BOISE, ID – Police Officers, Troopers, and Deputies could soon have a new tool to help catch people who hurt or kill law enforcement officers.  A bill for the Blue Alert System made headway in the Idaho Legislature last week.  If an officer of the law is seriously threatened, hurt, or missing, or killed, the system allows for a quick dissemination of information.
