OROFINO, ID – A reminder that the 911 service could be down for up to three hours tonight in much of North-Central Idaho. Frontier Communications is repairing a fiber optic line along Highway 95 between Coeur D’Alene and Worley that was damaged by vandalism.  The planned outage starts at 11:00 pm and will last between 30 minutes and three hours.

OLYMPIA, WA – A Kitsap County senator is going after businesses to grow the state’s coffers.  Senate Bill 5129, sponsored by Senator Christine Rolfes, would add an excise tax to a capital gains tax, and it would increase the Business and Occupation tax rate on most companies.

LEWISTON, ID – Clinton was impeached, the Dow hit 10,000, and everyone was worried about the chaos and aftermath of Y2K.  That’s what the construction crew working at the Orchards O’Reilly Auto Parts unearthed this morning.  A time capsule was placed in front of what was Grand Auto Parts at the time.

OLYMPIA, WA – You won’t be able to buy “Carry Guard” insurance branded by the NRA in Washington State any more.  Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler banned the sale of the insurance products that are sold as a personal liability policy if you have to use a firearm in self defense.

No More "Spring Forward, Fall Back"

OLYMPIA, WA – Clarkston and Pullman could have a different time from Lewiston and Moscow if things change according to a Washington State Senate bill.  Senate Bill 5139 would do away with changing your clocks twice a year and set a single year-long time.  The confusing part of the bill is which time to use.  The bill cites a push in the U.S. Congress to use Daylight Saving Time and the state would go along with that

Red Cross Issues Emergency Warning

LEWISTON, ID – The Red Cross has issued an emergency call for blood donors.  There is currently less than a three-day supply remaining.  A Red Cross representative says that’s because the holidays are a busy time and people don’t stop in to donate, and there aren’t as many blood drives during that time.
