The DEA Announces 20th Take Back day

SEATTLE – With opioid overdose deaths increasing during the pandemic, the Drug Enforcement Administration announced its 20th Take Back Day scheduled for April 24, 2021.  At its last Take Back Day in October, DEA collected a record-high amount of expired, unused prescription medications, with the public turning in close to 500 tons of unwanted drugs. Over the 10-year span of Take Back Day, DEA has brought in more than 6,800 tons of prescription drugs. With studies indicating a majority of abused prescription drugs come from family and friends, including from home medicine cabinets, clearing out unused medicine is essential.

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After dominating in the conference tournament, the Cascade Conference Champion LC State Warrior women swept the all-conference selections and grabbed three of the five awards. Kiara Burlage was named the Cascade Conference Player of Year, Abbie Johnson was voted the conference Defender of the Year, and Brian Orr was tabbed the Coach of the Year. The No. 22 Warriors’ starting five earned all five all-conference honor.

MOSCOW, ID - The Idaho Vandals won its spring football opener against the Eastern Washington Eagles by a score of 28-21. Conneticut transfer quarterback Mike Beaudry connected with Hayden Hatten for a 25-yard touchdown in the final minute of play to secure the Vandals' opening weekend win. The Vandals have now defeated Eastern Washington twice in as many seasons.

Cherrylane Bridge Project Set to Begin March 29th

LENORE, ID - Phase one of the Cherrylane Bridge Project is set to begin on Monday, March 29th, 2021. The 100-year-old Cherrylane Bridge will be replaced with a new two-lane steel-arch bridge. The new bridge will be located 75 feet upstream of the existing bridge. 

As part of the project, US-12 will be widened to allow the construction of a center turn lane at Cherrylane.
