COLFAX, WA – On Saturday evening, deputies from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible drug overdose in the Tekoa, WA area. 

After paramedics treated and released the victim, deputies obtained information about ongoing drug activity at a residence in Oakesdale.

On 05/17/2020 at approximately 2003 hrs Clearwater County Sheriffs Deputies, Elk River Fire and Deary Ambulance responded to the area of Bull Run Creek and Elk Creek Falls in Elk River, Clearwater County Idaho for the report of a single vehicle rollover accident. Kristina Keener of Lewiston, Idaho was the driver and single occupant of a UTV that rolled off the side of the road. Keener was transported into the town Elk River to the area of Front Street and the Log inn. Sheriff's Deputies met with the family of Keener prior to Keener being Life Flighted due to her injuries. Alcohol was believed to be a factor. The Investigation is ongoing.

U of I Graduates 1,650 Vandal Alumni in Spring 2020

MOSCOW, Idaho — May 15, 2020 — A total of 1,650 University of Idaho students statewide applied for 1,795 degrees for the spring semester, which ended today. The numbers are the largest in the past six years for a spring term.

Spring 2020 graduates will be celebrated during a Summer Commencement Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center in Moscow.

Gov. Jay Inslee today issued guidance for construction, golf and photography in Phase 2.

Through the Washington "Safe Start" plan, more businesses and activities will re-open in phases, with adequate safety and health standards in place. Each phase will be at least three weeks.

CHS Air Force JROTC Student Receives Cadet Leadership Award For The State Of Washington

CLARKSTON, WA -- Cadet junior Natalie Elskamp has been awarded the “Air Force JROTC and Air Force Association Cadet Leadership Award for the State of Washington”.  Natalie competed against one junior cadet nominated by each AFJROTC unit in the State.  She will now compete in the regional competition against the winners in the States of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Oregon.  The Regional Cadet winner will be announced on Friday 22 May.  If selected the Regional winner she will then compete for the overall top cadet in the Nation.  Natalie will be awarded the “Outstanding Cadet Ribbon” with a Silver Star for being chosen the State winner.
