LCSC Assistant Professor Received an IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence Pilot Project Grant

LEWISTON, ID - An assistant professor in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics division at Lewis-Clark State College, Leigh Latta, has received an IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence Pilot Project grant for almost $100,000 for his proposal “Mutation Accumulation and the Physiological Basis of Declines in Neural Function.”

LCSC Students Place at SkillsUSA Idaho Leadership & Skills Conference Competitions

LEWISTON, ID - Eight students from the Technical and Industrial Division of Lewis-Clark State College placed in the SkillsUSA Idaho Leadership and Skills Conference competitions that were held around the state last month. These competitions are open to all Idaho college students and help evaluate a student’s preparation for employment and to recognize students for excellence in various areas of their field.

Clarkston Man Booked Into Asotin County Jail For Disorderly Conduct at Parade

ASOTIN, WA - A 26-year-old Clarkston man who allegedly sped past participants of the Asotin County Fair and Rodeo Parade on Saturday and then swore at Sheriff John Hilderbrand as he acted "aggressive" was booked into the Asotin County Jail for Disorderly Conduct. According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Kaleb Rokstad was taken into custody in the 300 block of Wilson Street near the Asotin City baseball field following the incident at 9:23 a.m.

ID Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is Looking for Volunteers

LEWISTON, ID - Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is looking for volunteers who would want to serve on the Community Advisory Board for the new Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation.

The foundation will administer a $25 million endowment fund established through the agreements that the Attorney General reached with Ascension Health and RCCH HealthCare Partners in March.

Two Montana Women Arrested on Drug Charges in Idaho County

POWELL, ID - A car recklessly entering the parking area of Weir Hot Springs caught the eye of an Idaho County Sheriff's Deputy on Friday and ultimately ended up with a drug bust. Corporal Craig Hoodman was in the parking lot at about milepost 142 on US 12 east of Kooskia when the 1988 Nissan Maxima pulled in.

Hoodman made contact with the occupants of the car and while talking with them, he reportedly observed a marijuana pipe.
