LEWISTON, ID – The road work planned for earlier this week on Gun Club Road has been rescheduled for tomorrow.  A drainage ditch is going in on the extension to Nez Perce Drive.  To get the pipe in, they have to dig up part of Gun Club Road.

LEWISTON, ID – If you were driving downtown in Lewiston at noon, you probably noticed a large group of people at 5th Street.  Beautiful Downtown Lewiston unveiled their new wraps that will cover the boxes on some chosen traffic lights.  The first one is covered with historic photos of that intersection along with a written explanation of those events.

CLARKSTON, WA – The Asotin County Fire District’s plan for a new station took another step forward.  Tuesday night, the District Commissioners signed the phase one construction contract with Crea Construction.  The contract was previously approved, but not signed while some background checking was done on the company.

LEWISTON, ID – Lewiston Police officers are currently looking for the person who drove a pickup into what was thought to be power lines this morning.  It happened at the corner of 8th Street and Bryden Avenue.

Chestnut Beach Still Closed To Swimmers

CLARKSTON, WA – Chestnut Beach is still closed to swimming.  The latest water-quality test results show it’s still unhealthy to be in the shallow area around the beach.  Those results came in last Friday.  They Army Corps of Engineers tests the water every Monday and it usually takes until Thursday or Friday to get the results back.

Fire Started By Cigarette

CLARKSTON, WA – A cigarette is to blame for a fire in Asotin County yesterday.  Asotin County Firefighters rushed to the 1100 block of 16th street just after 4:00 pm.  The fire started on the deck of a home, then spread to the dry grass below and out to a hillside behind the home.

LEWISTON, ID – Downtown Lewiston is about to get more beautiful.  Thursday, the community improvement group Beautiful Downtown Lewiston is unveiling new wraps for a signal box.  The new one is at the corner of 5th and Main Streets, and you’re invited to the event.  It’s at noon on Thursday.

LEWISTON, ID – Every ten days a child dies from heat stroke because he or she was left in a hot car.  That’s according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  AAA research shows some adults fail to perceive the dangers of hot cars because they don’t experience heat in the same way as children.
