LAPWAI —The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests and the Nez Perce National Historical Park invite the public to enjoy a new documentary titled “Camas: Sacred Food of the Nez Perce.” The documentary premiers Saturday, Jan. 15 in–person at the Nez Perce National Historical Park Visitor Center or online via YouTube.

WORLEY -  On Wednesday, January 12th, at around 5:30 PM, the Kootenai County 911 Center received a call from a resident in the Conkling Park area stating his wife, who suffers from Alhzeimer’s Disease, was missing. Deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’ Alene Tribal Police officer’s responded to the area and began looking for the female.

Two More Chronic Wasting Disease Cases Detected by Idaho Fish and Game

Idaho Fish and Game received notice on January 10 that two more animals, a cow elk and a white-tailed deer doe, have tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease. Both animals were in Unit 14 in Idaho County. The whitetail was about 4 miles south of Slate Creek in the same area as other CWD-positive deer, and the elk was about 1.5 miles northeast of White Bird.

Corps Investigates Steelhead Mortalities at Dworshak Dam

OROFINO  – In late December 2021, Idaho Department of Fish and Game notified U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District officials of reports of numerous dead steelhead downstream of Dworshak Dam. Upon their investigation it was confirmed that approximately 30 deceased adult steelhead trout were visible in Dworkshak’s downstream channel.
