Local Businesses Receive Bomb Threats

If They Don't Pay $20,000 in Bitcoin

LEWISTON, ID – Lewiston Police Detectives are investigating threats to bomb local businesses.  Several Lewiston businesses have reported getting threatening emails asking for $20,000 in bitcoin, or the sender will have their “mercenary” bring a bomb into the business.  Police haven’t found bombs at any of the locations, and they’ve told the owners to stay on the lookout for anything suspicious.

LEWISTON, ID – If you’re a new business owner or would like a finance refresher, there’s a basics of accounting and record-keeping class coming up.  The North central Idaho Small Business Development Center at Lewis Clark State College is offering a workshop.  It will cover records, decision making, language of money, report analysis, building wealth, taxes, and financial tools.

Bennett Lumber Products, Inc. is a family owned and operated sawmill with locations in Princeton, ID and Clarkston, WA.  We are seeking a full-time machinist for our Princeton, ID facility.  The successful applicant must be capable of precision machine work.  They must be able to interact with all departments to build new or replacement parts for the mill.  They must be able to operate shop equipment (lathes, horizontal and vertical CNC mils, drill press, band saws, cranes, etc.).  We prefer but don’t require sawmill experience.  CNC experience is required.

***UPDATE***  The school district says there was no bomb found in the building.  There are no after-school extra-curricular activities today, and school will resume at the normal time tomorrow.  Kids will not be allowed back into the school today to retrieve any personal belongings.

CLARKSTON, WA – Students were evacuated today from both Lincoln Middle and Heights Elementary Schools.  They were taken straight to the future Asotin County Fire District building on Appleside where parents could pick them up for the day. 

The Clarkston School District sent out a message to parents that said the decision to evacuate came after they found a bomb threat.  It hasn’t been confirmed by the school district or the Sheriff’s Office yet, but one student walking several blocks with his mother to their car said that the threat is likely connected to the threat that came yesterday in which a student told others that they should stay home from school today.  This morning the School District sent out a press release assuring parents that there was no need to worry about yesterday’s threat.

CLARKSTON, WA – The Clarkston School District staff wants to assure the community that “there’s no threat to the safety of students, staff, or the community.”  Yesterday afternoon students at Lincoln Middle School advised staff that another student had advised kids “to stay home”.
