SEATTLE — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today filed a consumer protection lawsuit against janitorial services company National Maintenance Contractors. National took advantage of immigrants with limited English proficiency and promised them the independence of business ownership. Unfortunately, in reality, National locked its franchisees into contracts that often left them earning less than minimum wage, paying exorbitant fees, and with little ability to advocate for themselves.

Happy New Beers Eve!

Tonight, grab your favorite drink with friends in celebration of this special day!

From 1920 to 1933, alcohol was prohibited in the United States. Truly a sad time for lovers of all brews everywhere. Thankfully, in 1933, President Roosevelt decided to lift the prohibition on alcohol.

So on this date, April 6, 1933, Americans all across the United States lined up at their favorite bars or favorite public houses to have their first (LEGAL) alcoholic beverage in 13 years. Ever since that night, this day has been affectionately named, 'New Beer's Eve', a precursor to 'New Beers Day'.
