Southway Bridge Closed Until Further Notice Due to Police Activity

LEWISTON, ID - Traffic is resuming on the Southway Bridge.  Law enforcement officials have one person in custody.


At this time the Southway Bridge has been closed until further notice.  Emergency services are on scene checking the welfare of a subject sitting on the bridge.  Avoid the area if possible.  More information will be released as the situation is currently ongoing.

SEL's Annual Education & Wellness Expo is Thursday

PULLMAN, WA - Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories will host its annual Education and Wellness Expo on Thursday at the SEL Event Center from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

The Expo brings together more than 60 health and education vendors. Workshops will be presented on self-defense, nutrition resources in the community, financial planning and resume building.

Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests is Holding a Community Meeting & Field Trip

GRANGEVILLE, ID - The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Salmon River Ranger District is inviting the public to a community meeting and field trip to get input regarding a potential project south of Grangeville.

From the NP-CNF:
A community meeting will be held Wednesday, October 4 from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. (PDT) at the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Grangeville Office (104 Airport Road, Grangeville).
A field trip will be held Tuesday, October 10 from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (PDT). Participants will meet at the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Grangeville Office (104 Airport Road, Grangeville) at 9:00 a.m. before heading to the field site. Please plan to take your own vehicle; carpooling is encouraged. Participants should pack lunch and plenty of water.

PULLMAN, WA - Washington State University’s power engineering program will establish the Edmund O. Schweitzer III Chair in Power Apparatus and Systems in the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, thanks to gifts totaling $1.5 million from Edmund and Beatriz Schweitzer, and the employee owners of Pullman-based Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories.

Idaho Joins Settlement Against Manufacturer of the Epi-Pen

BOISE, ID - Attorney General Lawrence Wasden has announced that Idaho has agreed to join the federal government and other states in settling allegations against Mylan Inc. and its subsidiary, Mylan Specialty L.P.

From the Office of the Attorney General:
The settlement resolves allegations that Mylan knowingly underpaid rebates owed to the Medicaid program for the drugs EpiPen and EpiPen Jr. dispensed to Medicaid beneficiaries.
