CULDESAC, ID – Shebang Days starts tomorrow.  The annual Culdesac celebration kicks off with breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30.  The parade starts at 10:30, then all day afterward you’ll find a variety of family-friendly activities like a climbing wall, bounce house, auctions, and music in the park.

BOISE, ID – Your property taxes may be coming due soon.  Some Idahoans will need to pay their taxes by June 20th.  If you’re not sure how much to pay, you can go online now.  The Idaho State Tax Commission now has an online calculator that lets you estimate your property taxes.

CLARKSTON, WA – Here’s a chance to take your kids fishing for free.  Tomorrow, June 9th, kids 14 and younger can fish for free at West Evans Pond just outside of Clarkston.  It’s being put on by the Pomeroy Ranger District and Asotin County Sportsmen. 

Wastewater Treatment Plant Funding

LEWISTON, ID – The Lewiston Wastewater Treatment Plant is asking for emergency money of sorts from the city council.  Plant leaders are asking for $28 million through a request called “judicial confirmation”.  That’s a process where they can ask a judge to approve debt when a community need is immediate and necessary.

MYRTLE, ID – Two vehicles are confirmed to be in the Clearwater River.  Nez Perce County Sheriff Joe Rodriguez says they have no idea if anyone is in the vehicles.  He says the water in the Clearwater River is flowing much too quickly and it’s too deep to get the vehicles out to inspect them. 

Gray Wolves May Come Off Endangered Species List

BOISE, ID – Gray wolves may be coming off the endangered species list.  The Department of Interior Appropriations Bill passed its committee’s vote.  It budgets $1,247,883,000 for a variety of uses.  One stipulation to the money is that the Secretary of the Interior must remove the gray wolf in the lower 48 states from the Endangered and Threatened Wildlife list. 

Insurance Fraud Leads To Work Sentence

KENNEWICK, WA – Two Kennewick people will have to work off their insurance fraud sentences.  Colby and Jessica Getchell pleaded guilty to one count each of attempting to file a false insurance claim.  That’s considered a gross misdemeanor in Washington.  They’ll each serve 5 days on a work crew this month and pay $700 in court fees.
