WHITMAN CO, WA – More than 25 students and a few faculty members from WSU and U of I volunteered their morning to clean up other people’s mess.  A couple weeks ago Park Rangers found the popular Snake River destination Granite Point covered with truckloads of litter and graffiti on several spots on the rocks.  Today a bunch of University students decided to do something about it.

LEWISTON, ID – Early voting in Nez Perce County ends tomorrow.  If you’re unable to go to the polls next Tuesday, you can vote in-person, but you must do it by tomorrow afternoon.  The Auditor’s office is open at the County Courthouse on Main Street in Lewiston.

POMEROY, WA – The Army Corps of Engineers is offering behind-the-scenes tours of the Lower Granite Dam this summer.  Park Ranger Dawn Waldal says it’s a great opportunity to see areas normally off-limits and gives tourists a chance to “get a better understanding of how water is used to make clean, renewable energy”.

LEWISTON, ID – Three vehicles were involved in the accident that shut down northbound traffic on Memorial Bridge yesterday.  Police say 86-year-old Clarkston resident James Migaki man may have been having a medical problem when he drifted from the right northbound lane into the left, striking another vehicle.

Share the road with cyclists and pedestrians

More people are choosing to walk, run and cycle to stay active, carry out errands or as an alternative to driving to work, especially when the warmer weather arrives, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Treat bicyclists as you would other drivers, and remember pedestrians have rights on the road, too, particularly at crosswalks, says the NHTSA.

CLARKSTON, WA – An accident on Diagonal St in Clarkston yesterday sent a 2 year old boy and his mother to the hospital.  A press release from the Washington State Patrol says the boy ran into the street.

LEWISTON, ID - The bottom of 21st Street is badly congested right now as Lewiston Police, Firefighters, Nez Perce Co Sheriff's Deputies, and ISP Troopers work to clean up a rollover accident.  It's at the North end of the Memorial Bridge.  It's blocking both northbound lanes of traffic.  Avoid the area if possible.  One person has been taken to the hospital.

CLARKSTON, WA – As far as weather goes, we’ve had a pretty mild spring so far, but fire season is quickly approaching.  Asotin County Fire District Chief Noel Hardin says the season usually starts in May or June depending on when the rain stops and things start to warm.
