Student Conversation About a Weapon | Today

LAPWAI, ID – A student conversation initiated a lockdown at Lapwai middle and high school this morning.  A representative for the Nez Perce Tribe says the students mentioned someone might bring a weapon to school.  Police haven’t released what the weapon was.

High-Speed Chase Damages Light Poles, Planters, Building

LEWISTON, ID – A man driving nearly 100 miles per hour hit a light pole in downtown Lewiston and came away unhurt. 

A press release from the LPD says Washington State Patrol Troopers were chasing 22-year-old Lewiston man Nathaniel McCarley in Clarkston at about 9:16 last night.  They gave up the chase when he sped up and it became unsafe.  McCarley then crossed the blue bridge into Lewiston. 

SR 26 Detour Update

OTHELLO, WA – The main thoroughfare from our area to the west side of Washington will still be detoured for another few weeks.  State Route 26 runs from Colfax to Vantage where it meets up with Interstate 90. 

Pickup Photo Leads To Multiple Crimes

TEKOA, WA – Investigators arrested two people they believe are behind several property crimes in Whitman and Lincoln counties. 

Sunday, the Whitman County Sheriff asked for information on this pickup believing the driver was involved in a burglary of gas and a pump.  A Lincoln County investigator recognized the pickup as someone in the town of Sprague.
