GRANGEVILLE, ID – An earthquake about 10 miles northeast of Grangeville rattled Idaho County this afternoon.  The U.S. Geological Survey says it happened at 2:39 pm.  The magnitude 4.1 quake was 13.3 kilometers down in the Earth.  The U.S.G.S. says it radiated through Kamiah, into Orofino, and nearly the Lewiston Orchards. 

Juliaetta Awarded $30,000 For Wastewater Plan

JULIAETTA, ID – Juliaetta’s wastewater system is getting an upgrade.  The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has announced that the town will get a grant for $30,000.  The funds will be used to prepare planning documents and an environmental review for the wastewater system.  The funds will also identify any needed improvements.

ISP Trooper Shoots Man In Boise

Report: During "Physical Altercation"

BOISE, ID – An Idaho State Police Officer shot a man in Boise yesterday.  The Idaho State Police reports that at about 3:30 pm, a Trooper tried to stop someone in traffic near the intersection of Meridian Road and West Waltman Lane.  The suspect fled and the Trooper pursued him to the end of a dead-end street.  At the end, the report says “a physical altercation occurred between the trooper and the suspect which ended when the trooper discharged his duty weapon.”

Dangerous Levels Of Pollution Possible

LEWISTON, ID – The Air Stagnation Advisory is still in effect for the inland northwest, including the LC Valley.  The National Weather Service says light winds and a strong inversion will trap pollutants near the ground.  This will create areas with dangerous levels of pollution.  They recommend that if you have respiratory issues, you prepare for bad breathing conditions.

Whitman County Sheriff Asking For Information

ROSALIA, WA – The Whitman County Sheriff is asking for the community’s help to identify two people in a car prowl case.  Over the weekend the Sheriff says there were eight reports of vehicles broken into in Rosalia.  The break-ins reportedly happened in the early morning hours.
