Idaho Ranked in the Top 10 For Most Dangerous States for Teen Drivers

Last week (October 20-26) was National Teen Driver Safety Week. In recognition of the week, Safety.com analyzed data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to determine the most dangerous states for young drivers (ages 15-20) from the most recent data available (2017). The week is a reminder of the importance that parents, educators, and teenagers themselves need to place on being safe behind the wheel of a vehicle all year round.

Avista customers near Grangeville to experience two planned power outages

Spokane, Wash. - Approximately 2,979 Avista electric customers in Grangeville, Elk City, Dixie and Red River will experience planned power outages on Sunday, November 10 and one week later on Sunday, November 17. Both planned outages will begin at 4 a.m. and end at 8 a.m. The outages are necessary as Avista works to replace aging poles and upgrade equipment within the Grangeville Substation. No road closures or traffic disruptions are anticipated as part of this work.

New North Fork Ranger District Office Open in Orofino

KAMIAH, Idaho – After 25 years, the North Fork Ranger District office of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests in Orofino has closed its doors in the building that was previously the Clearwater National Forest Supervisors office. The new office is located adjacent to the old office at 12740 US Highway 12 and is open to the public.

Clarkston DECA 4th Grade Career Development Conference "To Careers and Beyond"

Clarkston High School, November 7nd - On the morning of Thursday, November 7th, over two hundred 4th grade students from the Clarkston School District, Holy Family Catholic School, and Cornerstone Christian School will be attending the 19th annual Career Development Conference. This event, hosted by Clarkston DECA, will take place at the Clarkston High School Auditorium, and is open to the public. The conference is designed to teach the 4th-grade students about entrepreneurship, running a business, and the careers available to them in entrepreneurship.

Nez Perce County Election Equipment Set to be Tested October 30

In accordance with Section 34-2417, Idaho Code, an election test to certify the accuracy of Nez Perce County election equipment is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019.  This test will be held at the Nez Perce County Courthouse in the Auditor Recorder’s office at 1230 Main Street, Lewiston, Idaho.
