Proclamation Allows National Guard To Be Ready

OLYMPIA, WA – Governor Jay Inslee signed an emergency proclamation yesterday to ensure immediate response of firefighting resources.  The proclamation allows the Washington National Guard to assist in fighting wildfires.

COLTON, WA – The water in Colton is safe to drink again.  The town had sent out an advisory to anyone who uses water from the town’s system to boil it before drinking or cooking with it.  They sent out a sample to have it tested, and it came back safe. 

Warner Gulch Fire Nearly Contained

ASOTIN, WA – The Department of Natural Resources is taking over the Warner Gulch Fire from the state today.  It’s burning about 11 miles southwest of Asotin. The fire is currently 85% contained and fire leaders don’t believe it will pose enough of a concern to continue supplying resources that can be used on other fires in the northwest.

LEWISTON, ID – A chase that started on the Lewiston hill ended on the Winchester Grade.  A press release says an Idaho State Police Trooper tried to stop James A. Lemm yesterday just after 9:30 pm in a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo.
