LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College has a rich history when it comes to success on the baseball field. Many players are remembered for their athletic accomplishment after standout careers in Lewiston. Kyle Knigge, a Lewiston native, found success both in the classroom and on the field, and went on to make his mark after his time as a Warrior was complete. He used his LC State baseball career as leverage to make it in the highly competitive field of physical therapy.

Limited Access at Staffed Forest Service Fire Lookout Towers this Season

KAMIAH, Idaho (July 29, 2020) – Several historic fire lookout towers across the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests are still staffed every fire season to detect smoke from wildfires in remote locations and support the agencies’ wildfire response. In alignment with current federal, state and local guidance for social distancing and to ensure the health and safety of employees, visitors, and volunteers, the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests will restrict access at staffed fire lookout towers this summer. Members of the public are not permitted to access the top level of staffed fire lookout towers or use restrooms at these towers while these restrictions are in place.

The advisory order was approved by the Lewiston City Council at its July 27th regular City Council meeting that Face coverings be required when in any indoor or outdoor public place where six foot physical distancing is not able to be maintained with non-household members. This is an advisory and not a mandate.

A vehicle struck a gas line near Sonoco Products Co. D Street is closed from Third Street down to Levee Bypass Road. Take an alternate route and avoid the area. We will update as we receive more information. 

Mysterious Seeds Arriving on Doorsteps Throughout the Country from China

USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is aware that people across the country have received unsolicited packages of seed from China in recent days. APHIS is working closely with the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection and State departments of agriculture to prevent the unlawful entry of prohibited seeds and protect U.S. agriculture from invasive pests and noxious weeds.
