More Than 100 CHS Students Will Volunteer With the Twin County United Way Tomorrow

CLARKSTON, WA - Twin County United Way and Clarkston High School are partnering to support student volunteerism. More than 100 CHS students plan to include volunteer service in their Homecoming activities by volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul, Boys and Girls Clubs of the LC Valley, the remaining students will divide into groups to participate in litter pick-up around the school, along 6th Street, and surrounding areas.

This event will take place tomorrow from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Idaho Board of Education Announces Search Process for LCSC President

LEWISTON, ID - The Idaho State Board of Education has announced the search process for selecting the next Lewis-Clark State College President.  The national search will begin in November and end with a final selection in April.  The new President will succeed Dr. J. Anthony (Tony) Fernandez, who recently announced that he will retire effective June 17, 2018.

Orofino Police Investigate Alleged Threat at Jr-Sr High School

OROFINO, ID - Orofino Police are investigating an alleged threat made by a student at Orofino Junior-Senior High School.  According to a press release, officers responded to the school at about 8:42 a.m. this morning.  The initial investigation determined that a student had sent a message via social media indicating there would be violence at the school today.

Reverse Mortgage Company Fined, Charged With Misrepresentation

OLYMPIA, WA - The Consumer Services Division of the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions has charged HighTechLending of California with misrepresenting reverse mortgage loan terms and failing to disclose the risks of default and foreclosure. The Statement of Charges seeks a final order requiring the company to cease and desist from engaging in false advertising practices, pay a $300,000 fine, and pay an investigative fee.

8th Annual "Spike for a Cure" Volleyball Tournament Will Held Tomorrow

CLARKSTON, WA - The 8th Annual "Spike for a Cure" volleyball tournament will held tomorrow in the Clarkston High School Kramer Gymnasium beginning at 6:30 p.m. This event is an opportunity for the students of CHS to come together to raise funds for the Gina Quesenberry Foundation, a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide financial assistance to local patients with breast cancer.


No Serious Injuries in Semi Crash Near Potlatch

POTLATCH, ID - A 38-year-old Blanchard, Idaho man escaped serious injury at 1:54 a.m. this morning when he crashed his 2017 Peterbilt tractor-trailer on US 95 near Potlatch.  The Idaho State Police says David Sturgill was traveling southbound at milepost 363 when the truck went off the east shoulder and came to rest on its side.  The trailer was found to be transporting hazardous materials.

Wildlife Officials Investigating Wastage of Mule Deer

ASOTIN, WA - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is investigating the wasting of a mule deer buck just south of the Asotin City limits.  WDFW Police Sergeant Paul Mosman was informed about a partially skinned carcass that had been dumped on the side of Snake River Road sometime between midnight and 6:00 a.m. Monday morning.

51st Annual Gem Show

LEWISTON, ID - The 51st Annual Gem Show, hosted by the Hells Canyon Gem Club, will be held this weekend at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds. Admission is $3 for adults and children 12 and under are free.
