COTTONWOOD, ID - The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality will offer a free nitrate screening for private well owners at the Idaho County Fair on Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Nitrate, a chemical form of nitrogen found naturally in small amounts in soil and ground water, is the most widespread contaminant in Idaho ground water.

Idaho Housing & Finance Association has Received a $267,723 Grant

BOISE, ID - The Department of Housing and Urban Development has given the Idaho Housing and Finance Association a federal grant in the amount of $267,723. This grant is to help the Free Comprehensive Housing Counseling program which helps approximately 7,500 people annually to better understand and resolve their housing questions and issues.

Anyone planning to dig – installing a fence or mailbox, building a deck, planting a tree, or undertaking any other project below the surface – must call 811 at least two business days before the planned project start date.

Governor Appoints WSU's Anna-Maria Shannon to Washington State Arts Commission Board

PULLMAN, WA - Governor Jay Inslee has appointed Anna-Maria Shannon, interim director of the Washington State University Museum of Art, to the board of the Washington State Arts Commission.

Dayton Resident Selected to Lead Governor’s Salmon Recovery Office

OLYMPIA, WA - A Dayton resident, Steve Martin, has been selected to lead the Governor’s Salmon Recovery Office. This office coordinates the efforts of 25 community-based watershed groups and seven regional organizations across the state that are in charge of implementing federally approved recovery plans for salmon, steelhead, and bull trout.
