LCSC Men’s Basketball Begins Season Ranked No. 23

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – After advancing to the National Semifinal and finishing the season 30-7 a year ago, the Lewis-Clark State Men’s Basketball team will start the 2019-20 season ranked at No. 23. The NAIA released the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll on Wednesday morning and the Warriors received 59 votes.

Bengals Volleyball Season Ends in a Heart Breaker vs Post Falls

POST FALLS, ID - Lewiston fell to Post falls in the second round of the regional tournament whcih effectively ended its season. The Bengals lost in five sets. They fell in the first set 21-25, but won back-to-back sets by a score of 25-23 and 25-15. Post Falls would then bounce back and win the last two sets to take home the victory by a score of 25-22 and 15-8. 

Only Antlers and Ivories Taken From Bull Elk Shot and Wasted Near McKown Road North of Potlatch

On Thursday October 17, a bull elk was found wasted in a wheat field near McKown Road north of Potlatch, ID. The elk had been shot one time with only the antlers and ivories removed from the animal. All of the meat was left to waste from the elk. It is believed the elk was killed sometime between Sunday October 13, 2019 and Wednesday October 16.

Two Men in Custody After Fleeing in a Stolen Vehicle on Saturday Night

Two men are in custody after fleeing in a stolen vehicle and crashing into a house. On Saturday October 19 at around 4:30 p.m. A Lewiston Police Officer attempted to stop a 1994 Ford Probe in the area of St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. The vehicle was stolen earlier in the day in Clarkston, WA. The vehicle fled from the officer. reaching speeds in excess of 50 mph and running stop signs in a residential neighborhood. 

Joshua Redman and Vertical Voices to Headline 2020 Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival

MOSCOW, Idaho —  The University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival -- Feb. 28-29, 2020 -- will continue its legacy of honoring traditional jazz music while highlighting the top musicians of today’s jazz scene. The festival’s evening concerts will feature current jazz icons Joshua Redman and Vertical Voices, as well as all 16 members of the Lionel Hampton Big Band – the first time in more than 19 years that the entire band will be in attendance.
