Risch Calls for Debt Servicing Costs Estimates

BOISE, Idaho – This week, U.S. Sen. Jim Risch (R-Idaho) sent a bipartisan, bicameral letter to the House and Senate Budget Committees, asking them to require the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to include debt servicing costs whenever they produce an official cost estimate. Doing so would ensure more accurate cost estimates of legislation in Congress and increase government transparency for the general public.

WASHINGTON – A companion bill to S. 2794, the Bring Our Heroes Home Act (BOHHA), introduced by U.S. Senators Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-New Hampshire), was introduced today in the U.S. House of Representatives by Representatives Chris Pappas (D-New Hampshire) and Russ Fulcher (R-Idaho).  Crapo and Shaheen today also announced that S. 2794 has received endorsements by three Veterans Service Organizations, including Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Veterans (AMVETS) and the Coalition of Families of Korean and Cold War POW/MIAs.

USMCA Will Raise GDP, Create Jobs

WASHINGTON -- In a bipartisan vote of 89-10, the U.S. Senate today approved the implementing legislation for the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).  The new trilateral agreement updates the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) by bringing the deal into the 21st Century and providing U.S. farmers with valuable new export opportunities.  U.S. Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch (both R-Idaho) both voted in support of the trilateral pact.
