AG Ferguson wins historic $14.5M after trial on “trust mill” scheme

OLYMPIA — Following a trial in Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s lawsuit against CLA Estate Services, Inc. and CLA USA, Inc., a King County Superior Court judge ruled that the companies must pay a total of more than $6.1 million-plus 12 percent annual interest to 1,100 Washington seniors for misleading them about estate planning and other deceptive conduct. The company must also pay $6.5 million in civil penalties, which by law will go to the state general fund. The court also ruled that CLA must pay the Attorney General’s Office more than $1.8 million in attorney’s costs and fees.

Acting U.S. Attorney Addresses Increasing Danger of Counterfeit Prescription Opioids

BOISE – Acting U.S. Attorney Rafael M. Gonzalez, Jr. and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge Frank Tarentino today highlighted the danger that counterfeit prescription pills pose to our community. Opioid and prescription drug abuse are at an all-time high. In 2019, 70,630 drug overdose deaths occurred in the United States, and more than 70 percent of those deaths involved an opioid.

AAA: Idaho Gas Prices Back in Top Ten Most Expensive

BOISE – Idaho drivers received more frustrating news as they filled up this week, with gas prices increasing by another nickel to hit an average of $3.04 per gallon.  According to AAA, that’s 45 cents more than a month ago, and 70 cents more than a year ago (when COVID-19 restrictions were imposed).  The Gem State now ranks 10th in the country for the most expensive fuel.

Indianapolis, IN - The Gonzaga Bulldogs, (29-0) will face perhaps its toughest test thus far this tournament, in the USC Trojans (25-7). The Zags defeated the Creighton Blue Jays in what can only be described as a clinical performance, as the Bulldogs ran the Blue jays off the floor 85-63. USC however, looked equally as impressive against fellow Pac-12 foe, the Oregon Ducks, as USC dispatched the Ducks 82-68. 

Hatchery highlights for April: Notable fish stockings around the state

Spring is here, and hatchery staff has ramped up fish stocking around the state, with trout bound for water bodies in each of Fish and Game's seven regions.  About 213,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout will be stocked throughout Idaho during April, more than three times as many as they stocked in March.


The pilot programs will offer increased access to telehealth services in Orofino and Weippe to those who lack required technology and internet access at home to receive healthcare.

Boise, Idaho – The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health is awarding $30,000 in grants to launch a telehealth pilot program at two libraries in Clearwater County. Both libraries will be able to offer telehealth visits, increasing access to healthcare in rural Idaho.

I was scrolling through the web this morning, and found a video of a beautiful ocean creature known as a "Sea Angel"! In this video, the almost transparent sea slug glides effortlessly through the water, and when it flaps its small wings, it really does look like an angel.
