WA State Fire Marshals Office Has Received 265 Reports of Firework Related Incidents This Year

The Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) has received 265 reports of fireworks-related incidents from hospitals, clinics, and fire agencies so far this year. Of the 265 reports received, there were 92 fires and 173 injuries, one of which was a fatality.

WIAA Modifies 2020-2021 Sports Season Calendar

The WIAA Executive Board took action on Tuesday to modify the 2020-21 WIAA sports season calendar in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The changes will create four WIAA-sanctioned seasons and will also move moderate- and high-risk team sports, originally scheduled for the fall season, to the WIAA Season 3.

U of I Researchers and City of Moscow to Build on COVID-19 Wastewater Testing and Analysis

MOSCOW, Idaho — July 21, 2020 — Researchers at the University of Idaho have partnered with the City of Moscow to improve wastewater testing for the presence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The team hopes to develop an early warning system for spikes in local cases.
