Former LC Warrior Darren Trainor Signs with Coomera Cubs

LEWISTON, ID – 2019 NAIA All-American and the NAIA West Player of the Year Darren Trainor has signed a professional contract with the Coomera Cubs of the Greater Brisbane League in Australia. The Cubs are based out of the northern Gold Coast.

“I am extremely grateful for the support of the coaching staff and administration for everything throughout my career as a Warrior,” Trainor said. “I’m excited to continue my career overseas, but my heart will always be in Lewiston.”

Trainor produced a stellar senior campaign for the Warriors. The only Warrior to appear in and start all 51 games, he led the team in batting average (.354), RBI (52), total bases (112) and runners caught stealing (9). Trainor tallied 16 doubles, seven home runs and a triple and go with 29 runs scored. He slugged .544 with a .414 on-base percentage. He was voted a Second-Team All-American, NAIA West Player of the Year, All-NAIA West and earned the NAIA West Gold Glove as a catcher.
