CLARKSTON, WA - This game saw hail, turnovers, big plays, a statue of liberty, and three overtimes. But alas, the Bantams took down the Eagles of West Valley to open up league play 50-49 on the road in Spokane.

The bantams also welcomed back wide receiver Tru Allen from suspension and wasted no time getting him involved.

Kaden Frazier connected with Tru Allen for a touchdown pass on Clarkston's opening possession to put the Bantams ahead early. After an answer from West Valley, Clarkston was once again able to find paydirt with a short Eddie Berglund touchdown run to retake the 14-7 lead.

That seven point lead would be the difference when both teams headed to the locker room for halftime. After all the Homecoming festivities for West Valley, the Eagles took complete control of the third quarter. A score on each of  its first two possessions of the second half gave West Valley its first lead of the night. But the Bantams weren't about to go down quietly.

On a fourth down play Frazier found a receiver in the back of the endzone to knot things back up at 21. After both teams traded scores once again in the fourth quarter, Clarkston found themselves with the ball last in regulation. A 37 yard field goal attempt fell just short as time expired, sending the game into overtime.

A quick score from the Eagles put all the pressure on Clarkston to have to answer, and answer they did. On a fourth down and 10 play with the game on the line, they called a Statue of Liberty play to Tru Allen who then launched the ball into the endzone for a touchdown to send it into double overtime. A second overtime wasn't enough to determine a winner, so the two teams took it to a third where we finally determined a winner. Both teams scored again, but it was Clarkston who finally decided enough was enough, and went for the two point conversion for all the marbles. On a quarterback keeper, Frazier barreled through the middle and crossed the goaline, giving his team an incredible 50-49 win. Clarkston moves to 4-1 on the season. Next week for the Bantams is Homecoming at Adams Field. They will try and defend their home turf and pull out a win when the Pullman Greyhounds come to town.
