COEUR D'ALENE, ID - The Vikings of Coeur d'alene led the Lewiston Bengals by a score of 28-0 towards the end of the first half. It appeared that the Vikings would add to its lead, when they were deep in Bengals territory. But, linebacker Joel Brume intercepted the pass and returned it 70-yards the other way. The Bengals were unable to capitalize on the turnover which was common throughout the night.
The Bengals defense would not allow another point the rest of the night. But unfortunately, the offense just couldn't generate much movement against a stifling Viking defense. Damon Shaw caught a nine yard touchdown to make the score 28-12 with just under five minutes to go in the game. They were unable to prevent the Vikings from running out the clock on the ensuing possession. The Bengals had every chance to quit when they trailed 28-0 in the first half, but Lewiston showed its heart throughout the contest. The Bengals now fall to 3-4 on the season. While Couer d'alene improves to 5-2 with the win.
